Bin Store

The Bin Store is available to residents to put out 'house-hold' waste to be collected every other Tuesday by the council.

You must bag your rubbish in a black bin liner and ensure the bin store door is shut at all times.

The Bin Store is not to be used for anything else, e.g. old carpet, large cardboard boxes, old unwanted furniture.

If anybody is seen to be using the Bin Store inappropriotley will be liable to pay for the removal cost of the items.

In 2008, we had a problem when somebody (we know not whom) just threw their food waste wrapped in supermarket bags which weren't sealed; this resulted in the bags spliting and the bin store getitng into a right mess. The council refused to collect and once we had dropped of their radar for a couple of weeks, it was a nightmare to get back onto the collection round. The waste spilled over into the car park as the store was full. Finally after 14 weeks the bin store was completey full of rotting material, they agree to collect.

To re-iterate, if you put anything other than household waste in a bin liner in the bin store, you will be charged for the removal cost of the items.
